I'm Laura. I live in Brooklyn. I am 24. I write things. I run a magazine. By day, I have a counterintuitive job for an English major.

I almost wrote you categorized lists of things I like and things I hate, but it got too detailed. Instead I will keep it to six items each. Six things I like are: hummus, Margaret Atwood's writing style, Todd Solondz movies, riding buses for no reason, walking over bridges, the song "Playground Love" by Air. Six things I hate are: the band Rush, republicans, slow walkers, sarcasm, drinking games, watching television without a specific plan.

According to my not-very-scientific polling of my friends with windows johari and nohari, I am widely considered "complex," "intelligent," and "witty" on the positive side and "insecure," "childish," "needy," and "selfish" on the negative side. I'm inclined to agree.

Here is a picture of me:

I am on the right. The girl is my friend Johanna. The boy is my ex-boyfriend, Michael.
