mewing.net/flashfiction

In late 2007, we members of a nameless biweekly writing collective that began in 2006 started assigning ourselves flash fiction projects that would be due each meeting. One member would provide the prompt--which could be anything from a genre to an included sentence to a setting--and another member would provide what we came to call "the obstruction," which would be some sort of limitation, such as "your story cannot contain adverbs" or "your story must be only one sentence long." Each meeting, the group would vote on the completed flashes, and the winning piece would be marked for inclusion in our upcoming anthology that we plan to sell on consignment in willing bookstores around New York City.

This website is not an internet analogue of that anthology. This website only contains my flashes, some of which will be in the anthology and some of which will not. I was looking through my documents folder a few weeks ago and found a bunch of flashes that I'd forgotten about, and some of them amused me, and I decided to make a little website for them. This is it.

Feel free to email me if you have questions or comments.

(Also, as a forewarning, some of these are kind of dirty, so if you hate that sort of thing, beware.)
